haha that is true! I emailed him about a watch that he wasn't advertising on this page. Low and behold, he emails me back ASAP. Shoots me some pics of the watch that I was interested in... Closed the deal. FedEx with my new toy at my office in less 2 days!

Sometimes I wonder, man! David operates FASTER than Amazon Prime! Pretty sure it was David that responded to my inquiry! That was before he had a full staff working under him and the Brick and Mortar store!

Well, my AD says that isn't accurate. He knows this because his cousin has a friend who went to school with a guy who later became David's brother-in-law who spoke to DSW at Christmas and the conversation went something like this:

"Yo, hey David, how come no Daytona under my tree?"

"Sorry bro, out of stock."

So, there you go.

Guys ever thought about connecting the “missing” inventory to the recent price increase????

Site full of inventory
Rolex has a price increase
Take off the majority of inventory for a week or so
Put the “same” ones back on for much higher prices

Mystery solved

sooo much rubbish chat. Nothing is going to happen to the daytona or ceramic daytona. One dealer in the world removing his stock from a website which probably doesnt have everything. He has probably got loads under his bed at home.

Also, I doubt many Rolexes have been coming into AD's over the past 2 weeks to replenish stock. Rolex usually has a pretty big Nov/Dec in terms of supply to provide for the holidays, but Jan is a bit more slow and then coupled with shutting down for a bit, pandemic, and price increase. But i'm sure he'll be having more soon.

Maybe the cryptocurrency and Wallstreet bets boys implosion is changing market dynamics.

Lol these speculation threads always make me chuckle, no one really knows what is going on with David's inventory except him. He could have sold a lot of them since there was a big price increase but grey prices held steady.
I find it humorous that people think he just pulls down all his watches for a few weeks and then puts them up with higher prices, the guy has a building to pay for, employees etc he needs to sell watches, makes no sense to hide inventory to just increase the price and have it not sell.

Where are all the contrarian conspiracy theorists? “He’s strategically buying less because he knows the market is about to implode”

Not a bad idea to just have a couple of each at a time and just replenish as you sell them. Maintain the idea that they're still scarce. No benefit in listing 15 near identical ceramic Daytonas.

All I know is this: DavidSW (as of this post) has 94 new/unworn Rolexes, of which 5 are NOS.

DavidSW has 94, your local AD has practically zero.

Sorry - just a rant.

Both black and white 116500 increasing quickly the last couple weeks, especially black. Just the facts, I don't care as mine were purchased at retail.

He probably needs them for Miami antique show next week. I'm guessing many dealers will be pulling goods from websites for a time.

You need not be careful venturing a guess, it doesn't matter at all.

I agree, this thread means nothing. A lot of watches don’t even make the site before they’re sold.

For what it’s worth, I have seen him do a lot more advertising on wanting to buy Rolexes on IG. I imagine supply across the board is constrained due to the holiday pause and while waiting for 22’ shipments to arrive.
