Special incoming from an Airport

I always believed it can happen and it will happen one day.

So today was that day.

Although I do already have my own TT CHNR, my you brother had been eying my watch for some time. So this was an opportunity I couldn’t pass. He will have his own CHNR now.

The watch had to be sized and stickers were all removed as per standard procedure.

And it was tax free !

And makes the case for walking into any AD, no matter where, no matter how unlikely… great score!

I always wonder with these pickups, are they on display or do you ask and they present from under the counter?

Would be interested to hear. Amazing buy though, congratulations.

Oh wow. Second pick up from an airport recently. Might be returning stock there after Covid has slowed down. Was it on display
Congrats to your brother

Wow very cool. I’m shocked there are any Rolex dealers in airports anymore. Seems like the perfect spot for flippers to constantly buy.

That’s great, congratulations!
I can remember looking at well stocked inventory there a few times 15 or so years ago, happy you found a surprise in your travels.

Quite the find! I'm also curious to find out if it was sitting in the case or brought out from the back upon inquiring.

So is that 2 airport incoming posts in the past few days? I'll have to find some excuse to fly somewhere soon then.

At Schiphol, they are usually sitting in the cases. I've seen (recent) stories on Dutch watch forums of people stumbling upon a SS Daytona just sitting in its case over there.

Needless to say there are no waiting lists and it's first come first serve. You got lucky there with the CHNR, as they are not often sitting in their case for more than 30 minutes.
