Whichever fits your wrist better.

I like the proportions of the DD better for my 7.25 wrist.

I think the VC is technically a superior watch, but have never tried one and feel like it might wear a touch too big for my ergonomic preferences.

Both are gorgeous timepieces but Day-Date is a lot better buy for the money at msrp.

VC has only date and I think the second hand does not stop when set the time (sorry if I misunderstood).

Yup, you are right. Around 16K EUR price difference.
VC does not have hacking seconds hand and quick date change.

The main competition for that DD in my mind is another DD in white gold with a blue dial. I've considered both (although I don't have the budget for either one this year, probably not next).

DD in that configuration gets my vote. Both amazing looking though. Wouldn’t fault you for going either way.

DD40 imo.

I don’t know about VC in the long run being under the hands of Richemont. I can’t imagine sending a watch to their service center which repairs all their other brands. Seen too many horror stories with Panerai, Cartier, etc. Plus, how can they not have hacking seconds on such a watch?

Only upside about the VC in this comparison is the quick adjustment the overseas bracelet offers.

Having tried the VC, it’s sad how low the brand has fallen. It feels wrong on so many levels. Truly the work of a company that belongs to a large luxury conglomerate. There is nothing to salvage here.

I love Vacheron, but that particular OS seems to have a number of fundamental design issues.

the dd is in its own league here in terms of aestethics, not even factoring the olive dial which makes it even more so

I've owned both except my VC was SS. I would take the olive presidential anyday over the VC. With the caveat being the ability to quickly change straps and the bracelet on the VC is efficient and amazing. That olive dial on the presi is one of, it not, the best dial in the game.

Very tough choice for me because I love both sunburst dial colours. I would lean slightly more towards Vacheron.

The VC bracelet just doesnt do it for me. The only one I would consider is the ultra thin perp that one is ridiculous

It’s pretty much neck and neck so far. Thanks for the comments. Some very valid inputs.

I should have probably mentioned that I am lucky to have the DD. It’s the ultimate DD for me and the dial is indeed striking.
If I am lucky again I might be offered the RG VC later in the year. I have seen the SS Blue Overseas and I really liked it. I’d imagine in RG is few times better.
But unfortunately keeping both with my other watches won’t be an option.

Hence the question and poll.

oof, tough..... Personally I'd go with the VC but thats mainly because Rolex RG just doesn't jive with my skin tone. If you like Rolex RG though, def that DD

VC by a mile, VC is a different league than Rolex, it's like comparing Rolex with Tudor.

patek is in a different league than rolex but it doesn't automatically make them better or better looking than rolex, and looks play a huge role in watch collecting. also i don't think you can really say this is like comparing rolex to tudor. the quality difference of a tudor is very obvious compared to a rolex whereas negligible between a day date and vc unless you compare movement aesthetics. you can do everything with a day date, how many all gold watches can you say that about
