Found a SKX173

Found it a small mom and pop watch and clock shop that sells seiko. I have a skx009 and this dial is so much more appealing with the square hour markers. Wonder why this version was discontinued.

Cool! I recently bought one from a mom-and-pop store, I really like the square/stick markers and never had a SKX007/009

If it’s not officially discontinued, it’s decidedly less than easily available in NIB/NOS at the major online retailers. Lots of used available on eBay however.

The forum lore has said for the last 5 years the SKX models are discontinued. But they are still available. I do know for fact Seiko makes some of their watches in batches, so this might be the fluctuation everyone is seeing. I got an NOS version the end of last year from and AD. I do believe the SKX007/009 are bigger sellers so more retailers carry them.

Congrats on a cool watch.
