If you are legitimately staying at the hotel, I wouldn’t see it as an issue as far as receiving the package.

Speaking hypothetically, I guess it would be ok. Personally for me, risking risking my watch disappear is not worth saving a few hundred bucks.

I buy in New York all the time and have stuff drop shipped from the dealer. No tax and legal.

You're more than welcome to ship it to my house.

I promise to take good care of it.

Figured I would throw it out there for some feedback before I finalize tomorrow.

Woow, congrats👍🏻 Which AD did you get it from in Chicago?
Wear the watch in good health. Enjoy!

I think everyone knows that the requirement that you pay sales tax when buying things in your home state doesn't go away by having the goods ship to another state. It's about your residency, not your temporary physical location.

Have a Rolex delivered to the front desk of a hotel? What could possibly go wrong?

For many. The savings is well over 1000. I sure the package, notify the front desk. Easy.
