My wife puts it wherever she wants

Kidding aside, she puts it on the floor on her side or her lap. If we're in a restaurant, she has to hang it on her chairback or set it on an empty chair. There is some superstition she was taught as a child that if she places her purse on the floor, her money will "escape"
