I'd check with www.timezone.com to see the going price for it. IMHO, you will loose a lot esp if you bought this classic watch new.
The average going rate in good condition (not taking into consideration the scratched clasp) would probably be $1000-$1200.

I have the exact same watch. This watch has gone up considerable in value since I bought mine new. I bought mine brand new from an AD back in very late 2005 for $1495 (retail was $1700 then). Just before the 2531.80 was discontinued, it was over $2,000 ! So, I would say you can get at LEST $1,100 or more.

I'd say 1100 to 1300 depending if you can find the right buyer.

Mark is right.
My advice would be to find a trusty watchmaker and pay 50 bucks to get the watch polished and looking like new. That will probably bring you the 1300. If you sell it like that, you'll probably get 1000, maybe 1100. It's just like a car. Always wax it and detail it before you sell it. We are visual people and the outer appearance means almost everything.

Did it sell? I thought for $900 on the sales forum it would not last long.

Good luck with the sale.
On a side note, that seems like a good deal for a SMP, do they just not hold value? I would think for $900 it would sell quickly. After all it is an automatic sports watch from a reputable brand "Omega". Just wondering what others views are on this. |

$900 pre-service is a fair asking price, IMO.
