Just a Craig ad, or a Bond forecast?

Omega just sent out this ad. The next Bond won't hit theaters for another year yet, but is currently in pre-production. Shooting will likely start soon, so Omega surely knows which watch(es) they want Craig wearing in the film. Is this telegraphing one of them? Or is Omega just putting Craig to work as an ambassador?

Omega has to put the new 300M in the next film! I think this is totally telegraphing.

If so, it would be the first SMP in a Bond movie since Casino Royale in 2006. I guess that would be a nice bookending, since this is going to be Craig's last Bond.

Good chance they will use the new Omega Diver but a year is a long time and they will release new watches between now and then. I think they are utilizing Danial Craig to market this new watch and we will see on the new Bond watch.

I hope the new Bond gets a Rolex or Grand Seiko. The Omega phase is kind of like the BMW one. Nice car and all but I’d rather see an Aston Martin.

Actually I think there have been more Seiko bond watches than any other which may surprise some, so a GS would be pretty awesome.

Unless I missed the memo, Omega still has a deal with Eon for product placement, so I don't imagine we're going to be seeing anything other than Omegas on Bond's wrist in the the next film.

That said, evidently I did miss the memo that they pushed back the release date. For the last year, IMDB had been showing the release as November 2019, but they are now showing February 2020. That will be almost two years past the debut of the new Seamaster, so maybe this is just an ad campaign, and not a Bond forecast. That will also be the second-longest release gap in the history of the franchise.

I think the SMP is an obvious choice - but who knows what might happen...

the SM300 was destined to be the Bond Watch, but Sam Mendes wasn't wild about it on the close up scene when it played a key plot role... the re-design to satisfy Mendes's taste was what resulted in the "Spectre" limited edition -

a happenstance whim of the production team could change the SMP, or, the success of the 'spectre' as a limted edition, might motivate Omega to do it again, and release a "screen accurate" seamanster that differs from the regular SMP production line...

Any chance Omega has to point to an Omega that sells above MSRP, is a good selling point ..

so as obvious a choice as the SMP is... If you really want the 'Bond watch'...wait for 2020... if you want an awesome Seamaster - get this now...

The SM300MC gets my vote. It is so classic Omega.

I hope it will be on bracelet, the rubber strap just doesn't look right with Bond. Just like how the PO in casino royale did not look right with the strap. OEM bracelet all the way.

Always preferred the Planet Ocean that Craig wore in his first Bond outing.

If only. Omega could use a bit of restraint in the number of models and variations they put out.

What I meant was this diver seems to be coming out later than expected. How does Ultraman crush pulsey ck 2998 out to the market. These watch cos are always late getting new product out.

I remember when the previous SMPc came out in 2011, local ADs in my area were waiting seemingly forever for the watches to arrive - well into late fall or even early winter the following year. Honestly, I'm not keeping track this time around, as the new diver doesn't do a whole lot for me.

Sometimes I think about whether that Casino Royale scene was better advertising for Rolex or Omega.

Sure, she loves the Omega, but she assumed it was a Rolex.

Will Rolex be ever used again?
You can’t go into an AD and buy any of the SS Sport watches as it is,so putting one on Bond again will have waiting lists of 10 years plus

I tried this on the other day, I didn't love the strap. Just didn't quite feel like it belonged on an Omega.
