Black or Mocha Brown Strap On Speedmaster?

Hey Everyone! Thinking about changing up the look of my Speedmaster Moon Watch and was wondering what you all think would look better. A black or mocha brown leather strap?

I just went through the same thing. I’ve had my Speedy around two years and wanted to change it up with a strap. I tried a bunch of different styles and colors and settled on a black calf with white stitching. It looks awesome. Sorry I don’t have photos yet.

Buy a few straps. Personally I prefer brown to black. Grey suede goes pretty well with the speedy too.

I've worn my Speedmaster on brown leather before, but lately I only use black alligator on it. I like the OEM strap/deployant, which have a classic taper from 20mm at the lugs to 16mm at the clasp.

I have enjoyed Shell Cordovan in Horween's classic Color #8 on this watch, too. Nomos sells good ones for very reasonable prices (order directly from Nomos).

I agree with SteveC that grey straps can also look dynamite on the Speedmaster Pro.

The Speedmaster is so versatile you can wear it with pretty much any colour strap and style; be warned once you start you will buy more and more straps. Black alligator is great, I have several different shell cordovans (No 8 goes really well) and so to rally straps...........I've not tried grey yet though

I have had several different straps on mine and I always eventually go back to the steel bracelet. I don’t know why.

Both colors look good but I tend to prefer some shade of brown on the Speedmaster.

Most straps work well with the Speedy. It’s hard to pick a favorite from.

Couldn't disagree more! One of the best watches ever to play around with different straps. Breathes new life into the watch with every change.

You need both. Switch between black, brown and bracelet as your mood dictates. That’s what I do, it’s part of the fun of having a Speedy!

I vote for the mocha. I think a black strap is boring, kind of monochromatic, although AEC's black alligator strap really dresses up his Speedy nicely. I also would suggest getting a burgundy or Color #8 strap.

Not a Moonwatch, but my 60th Anniversary Speedy on a brown Nomos shell cordovan strap.
