Need Help with Panerai PAM00422 caliber P.3001 identification
Hello everyone,
I'm new on the forum and I wanted to find out if anyone has an answer to the following: I recently bought a 2017 edition of Pam 422 watch - series T (total size 1,200) while I feel the watch is real, I can't explain the difference between how my watch's caliber P.3001 looks on the back of the watch, vs. the picture on Panerai's website. The official picture of p.3001 has two plates on the back and a rotor in between. my watch has there plates and a rotor in between. I have seen a few picks on line that do have similar looking mechanisms, but the majority have only two plates. I'm getting a bit worried and wanted to see if anyone has an answer on the forum. many thanks for your help, Andrew |

Hi Andrew, pending someone coming along with a technical answer you're fine. They've produced both. I think the split plate is a later version but they still use the older style at times. Yours look authentic.

I think the split version is the newer ones that have been used starting from R series (I might miss a year or two) as I've seen 372R with older movt too

Andrew,
I have a panerai from 2017, a pam 685, as well, bought from an AD and it also has the 3 plate split back. to see examples of it, go into the archives of the limited edition models and look at 47 mm models with p3000 and p3001 calibers. I like the three plate models. They are rare, and kinda special. |
