Fantastic opera!

I saw it in London when it had its premiere long time ago! Very impressive stage set-up, I must say! I remember the chandelier flying from the roof close above our heads. Whoa, that was awesome!

Larry,
I seem to remember a pic of you and your lovely wife in formal attire. Was the opera a black tie affair?

You know, there was a time in Vegas where they wouldn't let you through the doors without a jacket on...

But, I'm afraid those days are gone.... I think that standard tourist attire is now baggy cargo shorts and a bad-taste T-shirt..

I had on a Sport Coat and Pam was wearing a short waisted Mink Jacket.... We were some of the better dressed patrons there...

You don't appreciate the movie until you've seen the musical. This May, I am taking my little girls (9 & 7) to see Annie. I think I am more excited that they are, as this was the first major Broadway musical that I saw, way back in my youth.

My wife and I have seen "Phantom" in Toronto, Canada, London, England and Columbus, Ohio. Never tire of it! Have the DVD and occasionally watch it at home. Andrew Lloyd Webber is a genius!

We went to see Sleeping Beauty a month or so back. We made the effort nice suit & matching Rollie's. Some of the patrons made no effort, kinda took the edge off the occasion for Mrs F. Can't beat a DJ & Rollie Combo.

IMHO it appears that in the US we are a very casual society. Weddings, funerals, theater etc, people don't dress for the occasion. I'm not saying this to be snobby, it is an observation that many of you reading this know is true.

Didn't mean to hijack this thread Larry, but DRESS or Behavior in public is a peeve of mine.

Thanks for the recommendation Larry. We are going to the Broadway production with some friends who are coming to the city at the end of the month. Maybe I will try to give my SD some culture.

Speaking of recomendations......a few weeks back went to see Whistle Down the Wind also by Andrew Lloydd Webber.......absolutely amazing production!!!! I also was dumbfounded when the guy sitting in front of me had on jeans and a T-shirt????? Has it been that long since I've been to a show????? Thought it was very uncouth!

So glad you enjoyed it! Never got to see it myself. One of the big..."wish I could do this in my lifetime" was to see 'Les Miserables" and that didn't happen either.

Must have been a great experience!!!

Phantom was playing here in Toronto several years back and the lead was played by Paul Stanley from KISS, he did are magnificent job.
Well worth seeing again and again.
