New guy
Hi everyone!
Only just joined the forum, very knowledgable and informative! Bought my first Rolex last week, a SS Daytona white dial. I must admit that it wasn't a planned purchase and I'm no expert when it comes to Rolex. I was looking to treat myself, I have a Cartier Santos 100XL and wanted a sportier watch. I was going to get a Calibre de Cartier but after going browsing I saw a preowned TT Submariner and thought... That's nice! I tried it on, the dealer offered to sell at £5,800 (2005 pristine) but I decided to research a bit more. By the way, was that a good price? Anyway, I just stumbled upon the Daytona when researching further into Rolex and I fell in love with it. It just looks... SO NICE! So nice that nothing else would do... To me it was perfect and even though it was nearly £3000 more than I was planning to spend I had to get one! I realise now I was quite lucky to be able to have bought a new one so soon! Just wanted to share my tale with everyone on the forum, I'm sure you'll understand how I feel... Everyone around me thinks I'm mad! |

If I had some cash to buy the Daytona, it will definitely be a white dial. Congratulations, and I' glad you found TRF. Welcome!
Don't forget the obligatory wrist shot!

Pic
Thanks for all the messages everyone.
I've attached a pic as requested by some. I got it from the new Rolex boutique in Leeds and was offered either the black or the white dial. Took ages to decide and the manager said, "You won't get this chance again to see them side by side and being able to choose!" He didn't say it with attitude though. |

Didn't realisr the pic would be so big!
As you can see I haven't taken all the stickers off yet, I'm housing the watch in a watch winder that isn't the best. The holder is made of hard plastic, more suited to leather straps than metal so I've kept the stickers on to help protect it until I get a better winder. Can anyone back me up? My wife thinks it's pointless buying another winder as I already have one, a Time Tuletary dual winder. I need a winder with a soft holder!!! Any suggestions that won't cost a fortune? Below £200 preferably, at least dual and with compartments for other watches. Not asking for too much am I? |
