Got Lamy Safari FP with 1.1 Italic

I’ve received my Lamy Safari FP with 1.1 Italic nib along with Lamy ink cartridges, and converter from Swisher Pens today as
recommended by fellow TRF member “Shandy”.

I’ve prepared the pen for ink by rinsing thoroughly with a combination of dish soap and water. Upon drying I’ve fitted the
pen with Lamy’s blue ink cartridge.

I’ve done some quick handwriting to see how Italic nib can make it different.
I do not have any penmanship however italic nib seemed to add character (mix of thin line and thick line) to my
handwriting and actually makes it look better (writing looks lot better than my Montblanc and Waterman with M nib ).

I’ll continue to use my Lamy with current set-up but my next step is to trial and error with bottled ink and various nibs
(and nibs are only $11.00 a piece).

Overall for $30.00 ($24.00 + shipping) this pen is more than sufficient and can do lot better than I could.
I may pickup another one for my wife as well.

Thanks to “Shandy” for a great recommendation.

Good going

I like this pen. The italic nib is a little scratchy, or at least mine was and I got the 1.9 italic nib.

If you get an 'oblique' nib in the Montblanc range it will add some thick and thin line variation.

Enjoy

I have this exact pen and it is one of my favorites out of all my writers.

Congratulations!

Congrats Joji. I want to try one out myself.

Yep, I have one of these too, but with a fine nib. I use it for my usual day to day writing at work & home.

Very comfortable and inexpensive.
