Lange Blue Dials

Hello All,

Just wondering if anyone here has or has seen the old Lange 1 blue dials released around 1998(?).

Just curious on your thoughts about that piece and the recent announcement of 4 blue dials. As far as I can gather it is going to be the same blue color. I have located an old Lange 1 blue dial that i could potentially look at. And have to consider would I rather have this old one for probably ~12k less than the new release. Essentially it is the same watch, the new release will only have the updated movement. With the recent thread of Lange appreciate/value this always take some consideration.

Thanks for any thoughts, pics appreciated if you have.

PS, I currently own a Lange 1 rose gold with the updated movement.

Maybe aesthetically the same watch but in 2015 ALS updated Lange 1 with a brand new movement built form the ground up!

for reference:

I actually was able to see these in person last week at the Miami boutique. I have to say I was a little underwhelmed. The blue is a dull finish, which reflects the traditional classy Lange elements. Nice watch but nothing I am going to jump on just to have a blue dial.

Interesting. I agree they are restrained and understated, but I actually liked this about them...makes the blue something you can wear daily imo

Unfortunately have not seen either old Lange 1 or new blue dialed watches but if the blue is akin to my older 1815, they should be lovely . . .

Not sure what the deadline is, but the Lange rep confirmed they will make them for one year only to fill demand

All the above info mentioned I believe is correct. To add a little I basically spoke with all the USA boutiques and they are only guaranteed 1 of each as of now.

Basically all told me very limited etc, Lange only makes around 7k watches a year and USA gets 10 percent of these to distribute amongst all dealers.

I spoke with a boutique about 5days after the initial announcement and apparently was on their first to contact list. I have since taken my name off the list after seeing these in person last week. Watch is nice, don’t get me wrong but nothing I personally need to fit in my collection since I already have A. Lange 1.

I appreciate the details. I'm going to ask my AD what the deadline is for putting an order in, as I'm leaning toward picking one up
