That is a difficult price point.

I would look well under 1000

or

increase budget to 5000 to have more value conscious options.

Agree. This is about $1000 USD. Available in steel cheaper.

Or I was recently offered a preowned PAM 113 complete set for $3400 which seemed fair. Just wasn't sure about a white dialed PAM. Pic is in the Panerai subforum.

Longines makes a pretty sweet monopusher chronograph (L2.800.4.26.2) in that price point:

The Seiko SARK011 has a pretty sweet enamel dial too:

I like this Tag. Can usually be had for around 2400 retail and 2000 gray market. Looks great on leather too.

I like this Aquaracer a lot. I have a Calibre 16 Chrono with a blue dial but this white one makes me swoon a little bit.

probably the Seiko Samurai $250 when new. $750 - $1200 (todays $$$)

works on leather, fabric, rubber or metal.

(not my pic but i do miss mine )

That's a great looking watch and may land squarely at the price point.

The Tudor Gran Tours are relying nice watches. I'm surprised they received so little attention in the Tudor line up and coverage from media/blogs etc. The chrono is also a flyby know!

I think can get an aquatimer 3290 in that price range. Maybe a used Grand Seiko GMT SBGM021.

Unfortunately Tudor pulled them out of the line-up. The biggest issue on the forum seemed to be the lack of rotating bezel. For me that meant nothing. I have the Chrono as well but not the fly-back.

FWIW, also still have my fathers old Bulova in white face.

They're still available in HK, and I guess some other places, too. This is from the HK Tudor website today...

Quartz grand seiko, as mentioned, are solid watches.

Nomos Orion or Tangente.

A white dial IWC mark xviii on leather would be around $3000 on gray market. Not a bad watch at that price

It's an Eastman E20SS, which is patterned after a Gibson.
