My 116600 is slightly off like that, I've seen it more often than not. Buddy's hulk and his brothers WG Sub: same thing. I've stopped caring but yes it's annoying. Lol

No never bothered me. UNITL NOW!!!! Jk. I will have a look at my watch for sh**s and giggles, but it’s not something that would bother me.
The triangle not lining up perfectly at 12 is something that would bug me. In fact RSC fixed a bezel for Mehta had the issue. I didn’t bring it there for that reason, but while the watch was in I mentioned it, and they said “we’ll fix that” for you too. |

This thread may bring Peter (padi) back!
OP, although I am not OCD (I notice imperfections but I can accept them), I sympathize with you. One would expect a bit more from the "Rolex way". However, if that level of detail is important, there are other brands that can satisfy that crave for "perfection". Rolex excels in many ways but not in that department. |

I’ll admit to having my own OCD tendencies but I don’t go looking or issues. I don’t see the point of taking out a loupe to examine a watch or magnified photo. If I don’t see it with the naked eye, it ain’t there.
IMO, No matter the price point, imperfections of some type on a handmade product are possible since humans are human. |

unless he meant Where' "Cat's Whisper" like that's Padi's nickname. I know Padi's not much for nicknames but that's a pretty cool nickname.

Mass produced watch is not for anyone with OCD.
As far as what a Rolex costs, still has little to do with a mass produced watch. Bottom line comes off a production line. |

Next topic...the crown logo on the crown. Does yours face upwards toward the dial? Face toward the bracelet? Inbetween? Oh no!!!

This is on the same level as the non-aligned center of the triangle and the center of the text "Perpetual": Negligible.

For all you praising Seiko for their QC I suggest searching for Seiko misaligned bezels, a very common occurrence!
Also, while we are at it, do the ridges on the crown need to align with the bezel and the markers on the dial? |

I frequently change the inserts on my 16710 and I did notice that the pearl does not center in the knurled edges.... but that’s ok imo. As long as the pearl is centered with the dial markers, that’s what matters to me. You do have an interesting point. All they would have to do is adjust the mold a little one way or the other and the pearl would be centered in a notch on the outer bezel. Oh, well... I’m pretty OCD, but I’m gonna choose not to let that bother me. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

OP, I agree 100% with you... I have the same problem and it certainly annoys me. Every time I put the watch on I check it, I think it's getting to the stage of me sending back to RSC.

my bezel on my 114060 aligns with the notches on the dial, but there is some play in between clicks, is this normal?

OK, so after my last post on this topic, OCD plaged me...so looking through a magnifying glass, not a loop, plain lighted magnifying glass. I discovered that I am left eye dominant. Each time I looked at the trough the glass alignment was off to the right. when I looked through single eye loop it all lines up.....now I guess it all just matter of perspective?????
OCD will take years off your life,,,,,enjoy the world and all it's imperfections. |
