Speedmaster chronograph question

I just picked up the classic speedmaster pro moonwatch hesalite version. It’s my first chronograph of any kind. Can you run the chronograph continuously? I know it’s kind of silly, but I just like seeing sweeping seconds hand.

Yes you can. It may reduce the power reserve slight and will add to the wear of some components that will now be used more, but that is what the watch is designed to do, so it is not really an issue.

I agree with arcadelt. Perfectly safe to run the 1861 chrono continuously if you are so inclined.

Also, congrats on the Speedy!

Looks great! Glad you're enjoying it. Did you stop and zero the chronograph just for a photo?

BTW, if you do like to leave the chronograph running, then you might also take advantage by using it to track another time zone, in case there's one you would track. Simply start the chronograph when it is exactly noon or midnight in the other time zone, and voila!

My Speedmaster is usually my choice when traveling, and this has been a handy feature when I'm a few time zones away from the office.

Congratulations. A great and classic watch. No issue in letting the chronograph run.
