Rolex Yacht Master Review Platinum

Hey guys,

Just wanted to post a quick review I did of the Platinum Yacht master and a quick discussion of the watch’s good qualities and some situations where it’s not really the best Rolex you could be wearing. I look forward to your feedback and whether or not you agree.

Nice review! I'm a big fan of the YM, think it's super underrated in the Rolex lineup.

The case and bracelet are SS. The Bezel and Dial are solid Platinum.

I had a Blue Dial.Traded towards a different Rolex.Yes,undercover.Keeping my eye out for another one.Seems Ecellent Condition YM's are going for more than was paid for a New piece from a Grey last summer.

My 1680 sub has a bi-directional bezel, contrary to what was said on the video.

I have a 2008 model .. and I think it's a great outdoor watch, especially down here in Florida. However, for telling time outdoors in the bright sun ... it does sucks with the silver hands and silver-ish dial

I did a few conversions to mine ...
1. sapphire crystal case back
2. swapped the original clasp for a proper GMT-C/Daytona Flip Clasp! ... similar to what the new models come with

As for Platinum .. yes, the dial is 950 Plat and the "bezel insert" is Plat ... not the bezel itself, that's 316, like the case.

How'd you grab a GMT-C / Daytona clasp? I've been hunting one for my 16628 YM.... Would love the new one...

The amount of PT on that watch wouldn't even be enough for one link

I once read an in depth article showing that the dial was in fact platinum. Perhaps on the older version? Can't find it now so I'm doubting myself.

I have the blue dial and love it.

I watched 8 seconds and quit. This comment below is not directed at the OP, it's more of a general observation. No insult intended.

I don't watch videos like this because generally speaking the photography is amateurish, the sound is poor and the "narration" as such is off-the-cuff without a lot of preparation and certainly without a script. This results in a boring, meandering presentation that generally doesn't enlighten me a single iota.

Compare that if you will to a typical written review. Natch it requires a lot more time and effort, writing decent prose, taking good pictures, organizing and publishing the result. However, I would suggest that you end up with a more coherent and enjoyable product.

I'm guessing that it's easier to monetize a YouTube presentation than it is a written contribution.

That is exactly the webpage that sparked my search years ago ... for the clasp!

As far as I know ... only the "Platinum" Dial version is Platinum ... and the Bezel Insert is also 950 Plat ... do a search on this and other sites, to confirm ... all the other colors (Blue, Grey, silver) of YM are stainless

.... the Plat dial is stamped like this ....

You’re comment doesn’t really make sense. That’s all. I’m pretty sure if you forged a platinum bezel you’d get at least two links.
