5296g Deployment Clasp
Hello all, I just purchased my first Patek - a 5296g. It came with the pin buckle. Thinking about getting the deployment clasp. This is my first dress watch with a leather strap - does the deployment clasp actually improve the wearing experience? Anyone actually prefer the pin buckle?

Not me. Switched all to deployants: watches on/off throughout the day so easier and less risk of dropping v. messing with pin buckle. Also, straps last longer without the pin buckle crease.

I always prefer the pin buckle for wearing comfort
On all watches I’ve owned because I have a small wrist and wear my watches tightly the deployant clasp always seems to dig in and be uncomfortable so first thing I do is swap out to a pin buckle

The deployant reduces the risk of dropping the watch when removing it. I use both deployants and pin strap watches.

Much prefer the deployant. Not so much for wearing enjoyment but I would always worry I am going to drop the watch when taking it off/putting it on with the pin buckle.

Deployant looks better and protects the strap from excess crease wear and the watch from being dropped. I get a more comfortable fit with a pin buckle unless the watch head is large and heavy, then I like the counterweight balance the depolyant provides.

I used to have this reference. It wears so comfortably on pin buckle! The patek deployants can be tough to wear depending on your wrist shape/size.

Another thought. How old is your watch? Was it a model which was rhodium plated? If so, the new deployants will not match as they are now gray gold and not plated.

It’s from 2014. Not sure whether it’s from plated or grey gold. I believe it’s grey gold.
