I understand this is ambiguous but the dealer delivered as promised...a 7.5” sized bracelet on the model they advertised.

Here on TRF a seller must post pictures of the actual watch. That way one can count links or ask “how many?”

There is no way to check for sure that 11 links equals 7.5 inches unless I have the watch in front of me to measure. If I were buying a sub then I can check for sure because I own a submariner. Never own a Daytona before so here we are.

I’m sorry that happened, but can’t say I’m shocked. I did business them twice - the first time and the last time. I wasn’t a fan.

Assuming things got me into this predicament in the first place. I assumed that all links provided measured up to 7.5 inches as originally came from the factory.

I was not buying any department store watches to assume AND accept that it’s ok to have one or two missing links. I was buying a Rolex Daytona. One or two missing link is a big deal especially when I plan on giving it to my son later...and I am anticipating that his wrist is going to be bigger than mine.

Wow! I was literally looking at a watch on Bob's site this afternoon. I've never purchased from them before, and now I never will!

I don't think it's like selling a Ferrari with half a gallon of gas at all. It's like taking the passenger seat head-rest off the car and disclaiming that "the car is equipped for the average driver, who usually drives alone. A second headrest is available for additional price if required". The kit is not complete, period. On more than one occasion I have walked away from a watch with b/p because the bracelet was not complete.

Listen up to all those defending this.

11 links will NOT fit 7.5" wrist. I use all 12 in a 5/7 split to snugly fit my 7.25" wrist on a 116500.

11 links on a sub would work due to larger lug to lug and larger clasp. 11 won't work on Daytona.

Scary to think I almost used them for my 116610. So glad I went with DavidSW instead. It seems like I dodged a bullet!

Yeah that's very shady, and completely indefensible. Crazy that businesses like this are successful despite such atrocious behavior.

I had a similar experience when purchasing a White Gold Daytona from a UK reseller. It was listed as full set and complete and the photos had full linkage, however on arrival there was a link missing from the 12 o'clock side. I returned them the watch and haven't dealt with them since.

You are not outraged until something like this happens to you.

I have seen you defending Bob’s in another thread that complained about Bob’s customer service at the brick and mortar location. Do you work for Bob’s.

It doesn't matter that it is Bob's. It was just my opinion that I offered...but wasn't it months ago?

I previously defended Bob's? Your memory is better than mine, can you point it out? I have never bought, sold or even talked to Bob's.

Yes, I am pretty consistent.

I know very little about Bob's but they don't seem like a place I would deal with. I think I looked at their website a few years back and thouht at the time they were a bit high priced.

The way I read things back when I commented about the bracelet link count was that the listing specified a max wrist size. Maybe I am wired differently but if I bought a watch there and had missed that note my reaction would be "I should have been more careful". Annoyed yes, but as I said once it was stated in the listing I think they were covered.

You do realize you already quoted and lashed back at me in April right...and then quoted the same April post to lash out again two or three months later out of the blue?

See you in October.

Bob’s is a big business who’s survival depends on harboring trust from the buying public. Why use misleading language in their description unless there is intent to trick unsuspecting buyers. Why can’t they just simply stated that the watch comes with one less link than it had originally came from the factory. A watch with one missing link can fit a 7.5 inch wrist…well guess what? a watch with the full set of links will still fit 7.5 inch wrist.

I am not lashing out. I just noticed a common trend in your response to criticisms of Bob’s.

“showed up without an appointment close to closing time.....”? You mean when the shop was open?
