I've been researching the Rolex brand for 6 months while I save up for my first one. I completely overlooked this watch for 5 months - just passed right over it. Now that I'm on to it it's by far my favorite Rolex. Can't wait to get it.

Whoever said "less is more. Always." Brilliant. Couldn't agree more.

It's interesting that the numbers 3,6 and 9 are on the face and it has a 36 and 39 mm version. Both sizes are written on the face of both models.

Stopped by the Rolex boutique in Beverly Hills, run by Geary's, today. I was wearing my Explorer. The salesman commented that it was one of the hottest selling items, and hard to keep in stock. In fact, they didn't have one.

I then walked over to Geary's main store, scoped out the Tudors, and talked watches with the salesman there. He also commented on my Explorer, a 39mm, then pulled back his shirt cuff, displaying his 36mm Explorer.

Great watches!

The black face on these last few pictures is mesmerizing. I've never seen such a beautiful face on a watch. Is the black identical on the 36 and 39 mm versions?
