New FP Journe 2020 Resonance

The Journe Geneva Boutique just told me there will be a new Resonance coming out March 2020. What?? Anyone have details on this? I thought the current 24hr release was the final year.

There is a new version coming, it’s not a secret or only just announced. The current version was made for this year only.
Like the Tourbillon, last year, the Resonance has been around for 20 years, so is long due a re-think.
What the new model will look like is anyone’s guess at this point in time.

The new reference will be more complicated. That’s all I can say.

Sound great but probably much more expensive than the $74k price tag of this year’s version, right?

Expect it to cross into the six figures.

Oof. Any idea what the differences will be with the new version? I couldn't squeeze much out of the rep when I asked and he said he didn't know.

Oh man! That would placed me out of a Resonance range. I hope that is not the case.

Why?

Just buy an existing version in the secondary market for $40K+ and you've got an amazing watch!

Thanks. Been looking everywhere and nothing. Range is in the low $60k for a generic 2nd gen gold movement. Any ideas where to get one at $40k?

Maybe wait until the new version comes out? Should push prices down? That's what I'm waiting on.

Prices are rising on these as the market is drying up. A couple parking meter V3 around but very little else. Chrono 24 currently shows one rose, one plat and two V3 (which nobody wants). The 38MM brass going through the auction block at $250,000 has heightened the awareness of the model. The MSRP of these was almost $80K little stoping them from getting there quick as the new version is six figures. If you want one for $40K sorry, I think that boat left the harbor long ago.

That makes sense. The Resonance has been on my list for several years but not the easiest to jump in and purchase. When I finally got the nerve to dive into it for the 2019 anniversary 24 hr function, all the pieces sold out. If FP plans to make this a 100k type watch, I’ll be definitely be tapping out and leaving it for the big players. For those that have this, it is one gorgeous watch. I have never seen the Resonance in the wild.

Interesting does seem either dealers have pulled inventory expecting a higher msrp or buyers snatched up inventory because there use to be several around 55k listed and now very few.

100% pulled inventory, OK maybe 95%. And by dealers surely you mean dealer (singular). They are all in the same safe.

Watchbox has one listed now- how many do they typically have listed at any one time ? As far as I know, they are the single largest dealer of pre-owned journes.

They are definitely the largest and would have multiple in stock.

yes govberg had about half a dozen at any given time. They were definitely holding the most.

Personally, there's nothing wrong with paying $60K for this watch. There's one platinum on the market now on Chrono at $63K and if that's the dial you like, then go for it.

The gold movement is by far the more impressive movement to look at and enjoy... the brass movement is just rarer, so it's more collectable (but it is inferior to look at V the gold).

Eviperman, great comments. I got the new Resonance confirmation from Geneva yesterday - new Resonance is 135,000 CHF! After calling every Journe boutique, I got one to sell me the 24hr 2019 edition who a buyer decided to go with a Tourbillon watch. Paying MSRP and feel that perhaps I am overpaying since these tend to come down in prices. But, the watch found me and I found it. It is the platinum version.

135k for the new Reso, wow, that's hefty.

That's Tourbillon pricing!

One of my biggest draws to FPJ was that they were reasonably priced compared to their competitors.

With minimal effort you could get a fantastically finished Tourbillon for $135k.

Now the Tourbillon Vertical is $245k. And the new Reso is to be $135k?

That's rough.

WTF?! Good luck if Journe can actually sell them for that price.
