Lucky for me, I have always preferred the white dial, which made things a bit easier for me on my hunt - in two ways, first they are a touch cheaper, and second, since they are discontinued, I didn't have to struggle with paying over retail as there is no retail anymore - the market price is the price.

So, my collection is much smaller these days but very carefully curated. I have a couple big FPJs coming in next year, but for the most part I am on cruise control now. So so happy I finally just went for it and got exactly what I wanted. No compromises.

Congrats on your new heavy hitter love the white dial.

Congrats again on the 5711 as well
It really is a journey! Appreciate you sticking with me and the kind words.

I have to tell you, I LOVE my 15202 but I am already wondering if a white 15202 and 5711 coexist comfortably in a smaller collection. Might need another tweak on the AP front in the future....

Getting a collection "perfect" may be an impossible goal. Maybe that's why we all love this hobby?

Can’t wait to see what else you got coming from FPJ.

Congratulations!

Thanks buddy! Yeah, I sometimes forget I am still waiting on a white dial Daytona. Not even sure I care anymore.

And yes, the FPJs will be featured. First one is supposed to be February.

You don’t need any other white dial but this one. We need more wrist shots!

I am so excited for your Feb delivery. Cool. We’ll keep waiting in anticipation.

By the way, getting back to the 5711, what is your take on the bracelet and clasp?

Happy to oblige on wrist shots.

White dial. It's funny. I LOVE my 15202 white, but I am seriously wondering if in a smaller collection both the 5711 and 15202 in white makes any sense. I do love ROCs. The old blue/orange 26300's in particular. Also like the new rhodium 38s. Might make sense for one more small tweak in the future. It's criminal to let a 15202 just sit in a watch box if the 5711 is going to get most of the wrist time - and it is.

So, here is my take on the 5711 so far (early). Epic watch. Sure, low end in the Patek line but probably the nicest "sport watch" on the planet (my opinion). When comparing with the 15202 (best flagship comp) the 5711 wins on dial, case, movement and functionality (quick set yay!). But, the 15202 (RO in general) is just unbeatable in bracelet. The clasp on the 5711 is meh for sure. Bracelet is lovely, but does grab a hair here or there. Fits very nicely overall, but the RO is just the finest bracelet ever designed imho.

I have three Journes coming in over the next year or so. As they arrive they will be detailed in the Non-Rolex forum.

First one is in Feb. I am really looking forward to it!

Must confess I did think oh, the ole garage door when I saw this incoming as I haven't seen one in ages, but that moniker is now almost affectionately made as the watch is such a clear winner now.

Appreciate the comment.

If it's a garage door I love garage doors. I think the white gives it a really clean and understated sporty look. I love the blue dial, but white dials just always grab me in a way that's hard to describe. I am no wordsmith.

congrats! I've always preferred the white for the 5711 ref nautilus. To me it's quite perfect in its cohesive modernity
