Watch winder expectations

I recently started using a watch winder that I got when I purchased my daytona. I have been keeping my GMT and Daytona on the watch winder. I noticed today that when I went to wear the GMT that the time was off and the date was a day behind. I hadn't wore this watch for around 8 days. My question is , Shouldn't the winder have kept the watch going for this amount of time? What are the expectations of the winder in regards to keeping the watch ready to go?

My JLC has stopped in my winder. In that case I think I didn't put the watch in flush as it should be, and there was an awkward degree of pitch to the watch, and the rotor probably didn't spin as supposed.

Only happened once.

If working properly it should keep the watch going.

It shouldn't stop. I keep several watches on Wolf winders and they are all ready to go when called upon. Are your TRP - turns per day correct - on the winder?

I have a TT, blue dial, Navitimer that I wear about once a month and it's always ready to go.

It helps to have the watch fully wound before it goes on the winder too-

I have a 2 watch winder & it keeps both watches ready to go. Are you setting it properly with enough revolutions?

Seems strange. I use a cheepy winder and even it keeps my watch going.

Try some new settings.

Got to be a turns per day or directional issue.

Something seems wrong. The winder should keep the watch wound and keeping good time. I have a wolf winder for my date just and a Orbita winder for my Daytona. No matter how long a watch remains ideal on the winder they always keep good time. I have never had a problem where a watch stopped running if the winder is working properly. If your are using batteries for your winder check to make certain that you do not need to replace the batteries.
