it's a vintage 3121 with a 15 jewel manual wind movement in it, from the early 1940's I'd imagine. in pretty good shape I'd say, I believe the dial is original. it's a bit small by modern standards, but a great vintage watch.

Thanks for the input brother .
Just brought the watch to a watch repairer , the guy told me it's beyond economical service. So I guess I have to look for another person to get it service . Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Indeed, find yourself a proper watchmaker who knows the value of older Rolex models. Unless it's missing critical parts inside it should be a fairly easy movement to service.

Sorry but I have to agree with the OP's watchmaker. These watches are not worth very much at all and should a problem occur during the service of the watch, the watchmaker could be screwed. It isn't worth taking on.

Crown is wrong.
Very likely a non reference number early oyster. Early non shock calibre 700. Dial appears original and imo is worth servicing the watch for. Does it run? Did you buy it? Is there a 4 digit number on the back of the case? Serial probably in the 100k range. Could be 3121 as Andromeda said or 2280 or 4220 SpeedKing Royal Imperial etc. Got a movement photo? |

Ah yes I believe I see 3121.
I'm not scared. |
