Much less of a faff than any of these 'rules' and requires very little thought.
This ^ .

Between which time is it wise to adjust the date?

Quite. The point being that you still need to change the date using the quickset which means that you are not avoiding 'the faff of following the rules' as stated in your original post.

I've seen nothing in multiple Rolex model manuals about avoiding calendar changes during certain time intervals
One of the best things about these movements

But you do avoid the faff of being in the wrong half of the day. If you want to guarantee the date doesn't change at noon, Paul's (Ruud) method is the way to go. I set mine the same way.

Without causing offence, I think this thread is going off topic.
My replies are referring back to the OPs question in that for some, but not all watches, it would be a good idea to set the date with the hour hand between 3 and 9.
The standard way to set the date and time (setting from the day before as previously mentioned) is irrelevant to the OPs question.
As I said, I'm not looking to upset the camp and the OPs question has been answered so I'm going to leave it there

Here we have a person which has "the problem" with a SubC no date. Or is it just bad luck?
