Sending Rolex for service before Warranty expires; free and 2yr extension?
When I was buying my SubC from one of the ADs in the area the rep told me something I wasn't aware of...at the time I remember thinking, that can't be possible. He told me that if I send in my Submariner to Rolex just before my 5 yr warranty ends that Rolex would service my watch free of charge and it would extend the warranty two years.
My thought was there is no way this could be possible and he misspoke. Either way I figured I'd check in with the experts that have had their watches longer than I have...thanks |

Nope. If they find no issues with it, they will send back to you. No "free" service.

But don't they claim that you should service between 4 to 5 years? If it had a shelf life on a few month that should warrant a free service during warranty period - one would assume!
But what do I know :p Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

If that's that the area rep said then there is a fair chance that it may be true. Why don't you try and let us know ?

There's an old expression "if it ain't broke, don't fix it"!
And that's exactly what Rolex will tell you. They didn't get where they are now getting duped by an elementary stunt like that. |

Uninformed AD or a sales tactic. No truth to it.

Not true. A repair or service under the initial warranty does not extend it. If a repair or service is performed by RSC after the initial 5 year warranty has expired, then you get a new 2 year warranty.

Breitling does something like this with their in-house movements I believe. You send in the watch at year 2 and get 3 more years IIRC?
