NOS 16570 watch - on NEW type of certificate????

Hi All

I have been offered a NOS 16570, which oddly enough comes with the brand new type of certificate introduced in 2015/2016 (the lighter green and white plastic card) – along with apparently 5 year warranty. This strikes me as VERY odd since the 16570 was discontinued around 2012…According to the seller Rolex shipped a new warranty card to the dealer with the 5 year warranty, because the watch had not sold…This strikes me as even more odd since a discontinued model in NEW condition at MSRP would surely sell in a flash. Seller is reputable, the watch is fully stickered all boxes, papers etc and the plastic transport case…

Has anyone else ever seen or heard of something similar??

Thanks

If u can get confirmation from the AD who sold the watch, then you r good. Not common, but it does happen from time to time with unpopular models.

I blame it on the autoconnect.

Certificate has blank date but is pre-filled from the AD in question....It just strikes me as odd...however looking on Chrono24 I see two NOS watches also with new type of certificates so perhaps its fine

Thanks for all your input... Have been in contact with Rolex HQ Geneva via mail and on the phone - and they confirmed that indeed they did issue new certificates for a few Old stock items that didnt sell.. The reason being that they didn’t want to be running two parallel warranty systems… So they decided to issue new certificates for those few items that didn’t sell at AD’s – Hence the 5 digit refs on the brand new certificates will likely be the very last ones ever produced… So there you go…
