Not a regular poster but read the forum daily and just had to say well done Dr Tom for persevering with such a lovely gesture despite the initial hick ups. Such a lovely deed. Also congrats on the incoming

to the lucky recipient of this grand gesture, and to Dr. for extending it.

Also the AD should get some recognition for providing an extra 5 years of warranty on top of Rolex's. That is an awesome extra bit that can be an easy $600-$1000 savings in future maintenance/service.

Congrats to all, glad it worked out... Dr. Tom always a gentleman & class act, I'm sorry for your unnecessary drama in the process, Swissaholics seems like a deserving end buyer since his odds of acquiring one were slim. Adam a great moderator, always professional, informative and on point. Turned out to be a win, win, win situation

Just curious after the 5 year Rolex warranty runs out who does the work for the AD under their warranty?

Sorry after reading the question more thoroughly, the 5 year extended warranty I am speculating is a perk from Mayors Jewelers and Im also assuming the watch was purchased from there, as they are the only ones that Ive heard of that offer the doubling of warranty, which is a major AD which could possibly be the largest Major Rolex AD , I am also speculating they still send it in to
Rolex Service Center & foot the bill, again as a perk from buying from them.

This has to be thread of the year!! Wow, Dr. Tom, what did you get yourself into?!? I don’t have enough words to express how grateful I am for the effort Dr. Tom put into getting this watch. He did not have to do any of this and trust me, he has learned his lesson! But the fact that he took time out of his busy schedule to answer numerous PMs, physically went to the AD, and made the effort to request that the warranty card be put in buyer’s name is commendable. Not sure how many of us would take the time to do all of this and that too with absolutely no profit in mind!! Lucky for me, it’s a short two hour drive so I had the pleasure of meeting Dr. Tom and his son Tommy in Tampa yesterday. Both gentlemen were gracious hosts and we had a lovely chat about this whole saga that has taken place from the start.

Like many of us here, I am also on the list for the Daytona C but having no prior purchase history from any AD, my chances are slim to none. But I refuse to pay premium for anything. Forget premium, I have never purchased anything at MSRP except today. But as we all know, this was an exception and most of us will be glad to pay MSRP for this watch. I am truly humbled to be the lucky individual to get this watch at MSRP with my name on the card. And to top it off, Dr. Tom’s AD gives an additional 5 year warranty on top of Rolex’s 5 year warranty so now it’s a total of 10 year warranty. Honestly, how can you beat this whole experience!!

Yesterday was the first time I saw the Daytona C in person. Every time I made an effort to visit an AD just to see one, they obviously had none in stock. But this watch is absolutely stunning in person. I have not seen the black dial in person so I honestly cannot compare but the white dial is such a gorgeous contrast to the black ceramic bezel. Each time I saw an “I got the call” incoming, I would wonder if one day I would ever “get the call” and I got the call from Dr. Tom.

I should also thank Adam, our moderator, for his brilliant detective work. I don’t know how he did it but that was some investigation and for someone to get banned several times and keep coming back is just unbelievable. This is such an amazing community. I have gained extensive knowledge about timepieces, made great friends, and enjoy the opportunity to buy and sell timepieces on this forum.

The watch now has no stickers on it and it's 110% a keeper. Here are some quick pics of the beauty!! Still have to get it sized and put on the wrist once I get a chance.

Congratulations.....!!!

Hope you pass on your good deeds when you get the call from your AD to pick up your Daytona C & do the same as Dr.Tom......
