Best case-on-the-wrist of any brand these days, as if made as an extension of the body. I never realized until I tried on the octa lune on an evening where I tried on 15 other brands. I'm saving my money......

i have always loved journe, and own a 38mm resonance, but i have always been puzzled at why they do so poorly in the secondary market. along with lange they seem to lose 35% market value when bought new. not the only way i choose watches by any stretch, but it makes me hesitant at such high dollar prices.

i will say thought his tourbillons are to die for!

Correct – still puzzles me as to why there seems to a majority on here who are completely oblivious to this simple fact.

I have the same apprehensions, I went into the boutique and tried the octa auto lume on, they would give me 11% off (which is basically the tax LOL), but when you look on chrono24, they are reselling for 30-38% below MSRP. But since FP only produces about 900 pieces a year, it's hard to capture one on the gray/pre owned market. In the condition or price that you want.

It is one of the tragedies and why I didn't buy the QP...unless you get a massive discount you are just going to get a hiding...bit like Lange

As for losing money on other brands let see....

5167 made money
5711A made lots of money
FPJ CB made lots of money
5205R maybe $1000 positive
5130G down 5%
5146G still bleeding!!! 10% down after 2 years
116655 ouch!!!

I quite like the CB but the no date window is a no no for me personally. Gorgeous timepiece nonetheless. I can't afford a QP, so that's why I inquired about the Octa Automatique Lune RG. I didn't realize that it was in production since 2014, but again since the production numbers are low, it's hard to find on the gray/pre owned market.

It is interesting with such a low production journe resale is so poor. The chronometre Bleu do seem to fly in the secondary market... Some intersection of quality for money a killer dial and very low #s...

I know the fit and finish on a Journe is incredible, also it's the perfect wrist size and has heft to it.

All non-PP and non-Rolex lose a fortune on resale. It's the law.

If I had the opportunity I'd get this one at Govberg. It's the right size, right metal and right dial (for me). Unfortunately I'm moving house at some unspecified time in September, so can't really shoot off and get a ridiculous watch right now, sadly. Once the dust settles, I'll see if it's still there.

I'd have to sell my 5146, and 5712 to get that, leaving me without a PP. But it's exactly the one I want.

Or 5146, red sub; 5513; JLC RdM. Or win the lottery.

5146 becomes redundant...but you need to keep a beater

I've got the old faithful / go-anywhere / default / holiday / knockabout 16610. In some ways, it's the best thing I've bought, 16 years on. If I can't decide what to wear, that one goes on.

And also a new OP 39 as a lounge-lizard Rolex.
