BLNR Price Question

My understanding is that the GMT BLNR has never had the MSRP increase since the watch has been available.

Does anyone have any info, thoughts, etc on when Rolex may increase the MSRP on the watch? IE, what has Rolex historically done in regards to price changes on their watches?

I'm still new to Rolex (just bought my first one a couple months ago) so I'm trying to find see what the community thinks.

Thank you!

Rolex will increase prices when they want to and no one knows for sure when that will be despite weekly rumors and joke posts.

The last Rolex price increase was in 2012. When they do an increase it will be across the board, not for one specific watch.

In US, BLNR MSRP has never been raised since it was issued in 2013. However, in other regions of the world its MSRP may have been raised at least one or two times because of varying currency exchange rate.

There was an increase in the UK towards the end of 2016. From memory it went from around £5,950 to £6,550 (or somewhere around them figures)

Do you happen to know before 2012 when the last price increase was?

And the change was down mainly for currency change in the pound value against other world currency.

Thanks for sharing. Very interesting.

Because of the speciality of this watch do you think Rolex will continue making the BLNR for many years to come? Also, when a watch like this isn't make anymore I would assume the value then goes up significantly for those that are left?

It's based on local currency fluctuations. Not time.

There's no indication Rolex is going to stop making a watch that is extremely popular. That just would not make much business sense. I would not necessarily agree that the value of remaining watches would increase if the model is discontinued. It just depends. I am of the mind to enjoy any desired watch sooner rather than later if within your means.

I think its time for them to make a new multi color SST GMT Master...use the new movement for the base and call it the GMT Master 3.

They would make a killing if they made the red and black bezel....hell call it deadpool. The coloring must be striking and bold...I am not a fan of the "blueish-purple and reddish-pink bezel" on the white gold watch.

I don't think Rolex will ever repeat the mistake of not offering a bi-colored bezel, stainless steel GMT Master again. I get why it happened for the years transitioning to ceramic bezels (technical difficulties of production), but it's one of the original features of the GMT Master. My bet is that the BLNR will absolutely not go anywhere until another bi-color bezel is offered, and even then I don't think it's likely as long as it remains a good-seller.

With a SS Pepsi now unlikely, everyone wants to see a ceramic "Coke" released but I'm not convinced that it will be so hot it takes that much away from the BLNR to kill it. After all, the Coke option wasn't the best-seller when it was around before so after the initial spike/killing that comes with the newness would would it actually become the flagship SS model? Not sure about that. SS Pepsis and Cokes and LNs sold side by side for 25 years (1983 - 2007).

Unlikely Rolex will increase the MSRP in the U.S. while the dollar remains so high. The strong U.S. dollar amounts to a hidden price increase, with U.S. buyers already effectively paying more for the same watches than buyers in most other places.

(If you can find it in Canada, you'll save a fair bit, for example.)
