Looking at adding a new Rolex

Hello all,

I am in the position soon to pick up another Rolex. Right now I have The Hulk and Datejust II #116333 (rhodium dial with green Roman numerals/two tone).

I was initially looking either the OP 39 with blue dial or the Explorer I. I went to an AD to look at them BUT my eyes were distracted to another Datejust II #116300 (2017 with the 3235 movement/blue dial/smooth bezel). I could take my eyes off of it. Just a beautiful watch all around. I looked at the OP and Explorer also. Both were great looking too but I couldn't take my off of the DJ.

My problem is that I have a DJ already and I don't know if I should add another. Granted, they are different styles but both are DJ II.

Should I just go for the DJ II instead of the OP or Explorer? Is two DJ II in a collection too much?

Thanks for your input.

Ken

I'm certainly not an example to be followed ..... but I own two Datejust II (a silver smoth bezel and a blue dial fluted bezel) and I intend to buy a Datejust 41 with rhodium dial and jubillee....

I told you .... I must be insane .....

Id go with what stirs you, not with what makes a logical choice. At the end of the day a logical choice is probably a Timex or Casio. I think you should follow your own lead and go with the watch that "sings to you". I own the DJ41 Rhodium / smooth bezel and I am open to picking up the same in blue dial and fluted. Don't worry! Congrats on a GREAT problem!!! What a blessing

If the DJ you were looking at had the new movement, then it's a DJ41, not a DJ2. Different reference number altogether, so...perfectly allowable to add to your collection.

In all seriousness, if your eyes kept going to it...there's a reason. It's telling you it's to be next...and who are we to argue with it?
