I am old....68...and I wear a white gold Daytona with vivid blue dial. Vulgar? Possibly, but at a certain age, you are free to be as vulgar as you like.
Be honest, some Rolexes are a tad 'vulgar'....but so what. The 'safest' is surely a nice steel Date-Just. The epitome of conservative taste.

Mick is kind of old and set in his ways... but then he regularly makes new discoveries and changes his mind and then probably back again. He gives out strong opinions but then gives them on himself too, it's all quite cute and funny actually. He thinks he's an old fuddy duddy but in his heart he will always be a pimp daddy and occasionally that slips through. God love 'im.

I have always steered away from YG Rolex but I saw a YG Daytona yesterday on the wrist of another chap. He was older than me, much more conservatively dressed than me and also very quiet in his demeanour. After a very enjoyable conversation about Rolex, he told me that my 16710 coke GMT2 with its Jubilee bracelet was a tad vulgar and not the sort of thing a man of my years should be wearing. However he said it in a Head Master-ish sort of way and I thought it rather delightful and funny.

We chatted for a few minutes and parted company. I liked him and rather surprising, I liked his YG Daytona.

Possibly I am now loud and vulgar.
