Congrats.

BTW, Jackroad normally gives you 2% discount for cash payment, while HouseKihiroba offers same price for both cash and Visa payment.

great write up

I'll be in Shinjuku too next month and will be on the hunt for a Grand Seiko or no-date sub to go with my WG sub.

Thanks guys. At first, I was more interested in the 116610LN due to the following reasons: less-busy bezel, brushed bracelet and glidelock.
However, when it's time to make the final decision, the GMT won over because of...the GMT function :D

The hunt for Rolex in Japan and of course...Incoming

Congrats! That was a very good deal.

Just two days ago, I have also bought a 116610LN from a Rolex AD at Sogo Yokohama for my wife. Got it at 810,000 (after tax rebate) which was a good deal as it was lower than grey like Kame Kichi (no stock) and house of kihiroba.

Not much SS models left. I saw only one piece of 116710LN left. Selling at list price $864,000 which you can get a better deal from grey dealers.

Yes, the same thing happened when I was at Rolex AD in Haneda Airpot. As I mentioned, they had all ss Sub (date and no date) and GMTc in stock. Aside from 8% tax rebate, they did offer 2% discount without negotiation. Such a great deal!
Btw, congrats on your wife's 116610LN. It was an option for me before making the decision toward the GMT. However, we can not go wrong with either

Congrats on your marriage and your rolex! I will be flying to tokyo in two weeks time and will hunting for my first rolex, hence your post is very helpful.

but i will be buying from and AD rather than the grey dealers, so my best bet is getting it from the AD at the airport, rather than the rest of the AD? i'm currently looking at the ladies datejust, which i think is easily available throughout tokyo.

How much discount are we looking at between AD at narita vs AD in tokyo?

thanks in advance

Thanks for a nice reading. Im also going to Tokyo in November and really hope that the prices in the "current ad prices" thread is up to date in Japan. I have read about sale season in several threads and forums. Does anyone know if that's a thing? My hunt will be for a 114060. This thread have increased my chances on finding one. So thanks once again.

Will be heading to Tokyo in december. Did you already had that much cash in hand, travelers check, or did you had to go to a bank to make a withdrawal? Just curious because i'm hesitant to carry that much on me with.
