In each of us two natures are at war, the good and the evil. All our lives the fight goes on between them and one of them must conquer. But in our hands lies the power to choose, what we want most to be we are.

Taken from a shirt that I bought from the Jekyll and Hyde Club in NYC, good food, fun theme restaurant, not sure if it's still there or not. My daughter and I last ate there maybe 4 years ago.

You guys need to listen to the song "Power Windows" by Billy Falcon. This quote sums up the song in a nutshell.

If you are going to do something wrong, then at least enjoy it.

He seemed ebullient and cocky. He had challenged death to a duel, not once but many times and had always won. What the young man failed to understand is that as an adversary death really isn't hard to beat. If you're skillful you can defeat him again and again almost with impunity. The problem is that death is immortal, he keeps coming back and unlike you, he only has to win once.

This hung in my locker at work, at eye level so I could see it every day for over 20 years.

That's heavy. Calls to mind Sean Connery's character's first rule of police work from the untouchables: "when your shift is over, go home alive."

Yea, believe it or not it came out of an old Field and Stream article about a bear hunter. I read it in the magazine probably 25 years ago and it chilled me, I remember thinking that is the mantra that needs to be in my head for the job that I do. I love the untouchables movie.

"When you pray, move your feet"

An old african proverb.

And ... just about everything that came out of Winston Churchill's mouth.

Happiness is an inside job.

Sounds like something you'd find printed on a T-shirt.

Will submit a quote from Vince Lombardi in one of his first meetings after taking over coaching of the Green Bay Packers, who were losers at that time:

"“Gentlemen, we will chase perfection, and we will chase it relentlessly, knowing all the while we can never attain it. But along the way, we shall catch excellence.”

After having a pretty rubbish time of things recently we went to stay with my wife's grandmas house in Scotland.

She came out with this saying which at the time blew my mind...

"You need to suffer a bad day so you can appreciate it when a good one comes along"
