Wow, that's a beautiful Mk 4 dial! Any additional history regarding this watch you can share?

I was also wondering if you had any paperwork on the watch. If you have the certification I think it would at least have a country code the watch was shipped to.

If only Rolex would only open an office to offer extracts of the archives like some others do.

Very nice, seems like it might be more rare than your 6542.

Awesome! I've never seen anything like this before.

Regarding the Middle Eastern military Rolex watches, I am guessing that they were given to the officers (and maybe just the high ranking officers?) and not the foot soldiers, but can anybody confirm?

Yes I agree I don't see every soldier receiving one of these.
would be good if someone more educated around these dials popped in and could give us some more detailed info.

A few years ago, I saw the same exact dial (not in the watch). Within the last few years, it must have found its way into the above GMT...

Long story short, I past on it in due to its unsure provenance. King Hussein I' signature and initials do not seem to match. It almost looks Farsi.

Can you take a close up of the dial?

Saw it among other logo dials at a shop in the UK. Your collector friend must have acquired it from there... Cute dial nonetheless.

Justin, does your friend contend that the dial and the rest of the watch were "born" together, as an all original piece? I think I'd have a lot of questions for him.

Ah, gotcha. I was just going off of your original post mentioning that he'd had the watch for many years. I didn't realize that he told you he put that dial into a different case.

I don't think I said he's had the watch for years I said he's had it for years and said if anyone had seen the dial before, to be fair I'm not fussed if it has been put in a case or not as I said I don't expect it to be the original case

Thanks

It reads like you said many years..
All it matters is that you are happy with the watch...and the story...
