Is this normal?
As I have spoken about in a previous post, my brand new DJII was losing nearly 3 minutes a day.
Anyway, after 3 weeks at the RSC I am informed that my watch is back. I enquired to what was wrong with it but, apparently the documentation reports that the fault has been repaired, nothing more! I got to thinking that if I bought a new car and it was faulty, I'd expect to be debriefed on what was wrong with it - am I expecting too much to get that kind of detail from my favourite watch manufacturer? |

A watch movement is usually simply taken completely apart, any out-of-tolerance parts replaced, and it is re-assembled. There is seldom a need for a watchmaker to spend time trying to figure out exactly what may have been causing the issue since it could be as simple of lack of lubrication.

To Larry's point, troubleshooting a watch movement is not easy. If nothing is broken, any number of issues could contribute to the problem. Something as simple as a piece of lint could cause issues.

I just can't understand how a brand new watch could need lubricating or have any out of tolerance parts! Still at least I have 4 years and 10 months left on the warranty if there are any further issues! |

I agree they should tell you something. But, in the big picture, it really doesn't matter as long as they fix it.
My "new" SubC, is at the RSC for the second time since I bought it a few months ago. That's a bit disappointing. |

I see where you're coming from, but honestly, if the watch keeps good time then I'm not going to pry.

Really would not make a difference to me. Just like with my car, even if they tell me, I still don't understand.
