What makes a Rolex Vintage?

The vintage Rolex world looks a complicated place as there are so many different parameters but one mans used is another mans vintage..

So what makes or should I say pushes a Rolex into the vintage category? is it how the dial has aged, the age of the watch, a complete set v's the age, the value, the list goes on but ultimately something switches the watch from used/secondhand to vintage.

For me it's an acrylic crystal, anything non-quickset, or something that's completely manual wind with no automatic movement

Rolex doesn't recognize vintage. In their world there are watches they service and watches they no longer service which has nothing to do with what collectors consider vintage, Hope this clears things up.

Thanks all, I did do a search but couldn't see much relating to my question..

I'll make sure I search harder next time before repeating a thread as it annoys the hell out of me when newbies repeat the same old questions
