1675 seconds hand corrosion
Hi everyone,
I´m new to Rolexforums. I´ve found really interesting information here and helpful advices so far and this is my first post after lurking around for a while. I bought this 1675 in 2011. As you´ll see in the pictures below, the hands have some pitting, specially the seconds hand, with plenty of corrosion. I´ve heard that this is a common problem to the 1675s from late 70s. Even if I´ve been using it regularly, I think now it is the time to have this cosmetic issue fixed. I can live with the light pitting of the hour, minute and GMT hands but I´d like to have the 4th one serviced. My guess is that finding a replacement hand with the matching tritium tone would be pretty difficult, although I might be wrong. On the other hand, I was wondering if a good watchmaker would be able to have the rust removed without ruining the tritium. I am based in Florida and looking for watchmakers in the area, but I am willing to ship the watch within the US if it is worth doing it so. Many thanks in advance for your help. |

The hand is beyond repair. The silver plating is very thin on the hands.
