1675 seconds hand corrosion

Hi everyone,

I´m new to Rolexforums.

I´ve found really interesting information here and helpful advices so far and this is my first post after lurking around for a while.

I bought this 1675 in 2011. As you´ll see in the pictures below, the hands have some pitting, specially the seconds hand, with plenty of corrosion. I´ve heard that this is a common problem to the 1675s from late 70s.

Even if I´ve been using it regularly, I think now it is the time to have this cosmetic issue fixed.

I can live with the light pitting of the hour, minute and GMT hands but I´d like to have the 4th one serviced.

My guess is that finding a replacement hand with the matching tritium tone would be pretty difficult, although I might be wrong.

On the other hand, I was wondering if a good watchmaker would be able to have the rust removed without ruining the tritium.

I am based in Florida and looking for watchmakers in the area, but I am willing to ship the watch within the US if it is worth doing it so.

Many thanks in advance for your help.

The hand is beyond repair. The silver plating is very thin on the hands.
