There is only one AD in my city. They told me that they allow returns within a week if unworn/not sized.

Since they are independently owned, the policies would vary by location.

I suspect that's a rare policy. I routinely hear that I can return it if I change my mind as part of the sales pitch when I look at watches. I bet few buyers can keep themselves from pulling off all the stickers once they get it home.

My AD (Mayors) allows a 10 day return policy as long as the watch is in unworn condition.
I have actually used this twice now in 7 years with no problems.
I purchased many many more though so they forgave me...LOL

Honestly never tried and never will. I buy at prices I could move if necessary without a loss.

I just experienced this this weekend. Purchased a DJ41 on Saturday, but really couldn't move past the fact the SubC was probably a better fit for my lifestyle. I called and they were more than happy to process a return or exchange stating I had 10 days (Mayors) to do so. So, I walked in on Sunday and exchanged it for the Sub.

My AD will not under any circumstances exchange or refund once the warranty card is swiped. You have to sign specific forms ahead of the purchase to acknowledge this so there is no misunderstanding involved.

Mine as well. He says he's not Costco. Once the card is swiped the deal is done.

My AD swipes the card and either allows you to remove the stickers in store or they will do it for you. You can return the watch but for the price of a used item. No hard feelings on my end though as when I am buying a watch I am sure at the moment of purchase. Down the road it may get flipped but such is my collecting habits.

I've only experienced this once. As long as the watch was still stickered and card was unnamed I could return.

I have always been incredibly sure on Rolexes I have purchased are "the ones". I was able to return a Tag Heuer one time after buyers remorse.

Once it's altered in any way, it's a no go.

But I suppose it depends on both who's buying and who's selling.

My AD had me put down 50% but here's their policy:

http://www.springersjewelers.com/trade-up-programs

Springer's Rolex Trade-Up Policy
By purchasing a new or pre-owned Rolex from Springer’s Jewelers you will qualify for Springer’s very generous Rolex Trade-up Program. Within the first two years of ownership you can trade-in your Rolex for a Rolex priced at $2,500 or more and receive full value towards the new Rolex less a Rolex service charge.  The following guidelines apply to this policy:
The original Rolex must have been purchased from Springer’s Jewelers.
The trade-in allowance will be the purchase price paid before sales taxes, and a current Rolex Service charge.
Customer is responsible for any applicable sales tax on the retail price of the new item.
The trade-in Rolex must be in acceptable condition and operational.
Excessive wear, damage, or questionable condition will affect the trade-in allowance.
All packaging, paperwork, bracelet links, and warranties must be included to receive a full trade-in.  If these items are not included the trade-in allowance will be reduced as follows:
Pricing
Standard Rolex Packaging (Boxes & Paperwork): $300
Presidential & Pearlmaster Packaging (Boxes & Paperwork): $750
If paperwork only is missing: $100
Missing links:Current Rolex Price

A trade-up can only be taken from the original purchaser or the name on the official warranty.
An authorized staff member must verify the authenticity of the trade-in Rolex by checking the serial and model number, and performing the other verification procedures.
Springer’s may need to have the Rolex evaluated by a Rolex service technician before the allowance is determined.
Springer’s welcomes trade-ins on your Rolex after two years of ownership; these trade-ins are handled on a case by case prorated basis.

He offers champagne or beer while you browse, and free adjustments and appraisals. But he's not Walmart or Costco and can't absorb losses from people who can't decide what watch they want.

I thought it was funny as hell when he said it. I guess some folks are sensitive and might take it the wrong way though.

Tourneau stinks, I purchased my wife a Cartier for our 7 year anniversary and I went back the next day, less than 20 hours and they charged me a restocking fee and I was exchanging for a Rolex from Tourneau, not fair

I can't get over how they are still in business... They treat everyone like they are doing you a favor... I would never buy from them.

Personally, I'm one who HATES the whole idea of returning things. It bugs the hell out of me to see my wife buy shoes/clothes only to return them on a VERY regular basis. Sometimes the next day, a week later, or heck, even months later. I just shake my head and tell her that were I the store, she'd be out of luck.

As to the AD's who don't allow returns, I get that and can both respect and appreciate it. Why should someone's indecisiveness be their problem or concern? When spending that kind of coin, that is not the time to be on the fence about things. Just my take, mind you.
