Are 1601 and 1550 dials interchangeable?

I have a 1972 Rolex 14K gold Datejust style 1601. Can I replace my dial/ face with a dial from a 1972 Rolex 1550 gold capped watch? I see both watches described as 36mm case size, but other sizes are reported in for sale ads so I don't know which is the accurate size.

If possible, how expensive / time consuming is the swap?

I am new to Rolex watches, so be gentle.

I wouldn't think so. The Date is 34mm while the Datejust is 36.
