Ming watch -- As seen on Hodinkee

Happened to see this on Instagram yesterday from Hodinkee, a new micro brand Ming.

https://www.hodinkee.com/articles/th...d-ming-watches

https://monochrome-watches.com/intro...er-ming-thein/

I am really intrigued by the design, the dial and the price point that includes three straps.

Although sold out, they apparently are expecting more. I really do not need to add this to my collection however as we say, this one is singing to me!

Thoughts?

I ordered one (grey dial). Like the guy, like the watch, and the price is great value.

Well the initial run of 150 in each dial color was $900.00 with three straps.

They are sold out.

There is a wait list for "more"(?) but several articles have conflicting info as to whether there will be more of these or a new run of something different.

What a coincidence. This watch was brought to my attention by another forum member earlier today.
I think that both colors are just beautiful and I'm very interested in reading your impressions when you get it.

Fantastic piece and I'll try to get one too
Imo they could have asked 4000 just like IWC asks for an entry pilot watch with a sellita movement
And for titanium IWC would ask another 1000 extra

If you have 74 minutes to kill here's an interview with Ming Thein where he discusses the watch in great detail.

You should. Mine came yesterday and first impressions are very good. It's a nice change from playing with the 'big brands' as it's a different challenge to create a nice watch at this price point.

Correct - I got the grey. Took quick pics and I'll see if I can find some time to take some proper ones at some point.

That would be appreciated as well as your overall take on the watch and whether or not it met your expectations. Since I saw it for the first time a few days ago I can't get it out of my head.

That is a fantastic watch
I honestly don't know a more beautiful 2 or 3 hands watch
The dial is mesmerising, nice case, cool hands

If this would be from a big well known brand, it would cost bestween 5 and 10k and I would buy it in a heartbeat

I wonder how many pieces they should have made to meet the demand
Probably 10 times more lol

I wonder why this brand will bring us in the future
Volume multiplied by 10 and price X3?

Also taking the price into consideration, I think this is one of the most interesting watches since 10 years or more

If you read all the blogs like hodinkee, monochrome, a blog to watch, fratello,.... and you follow Instagram, it seems like everyone is positive about this one and a lot of the well known watch enthusiasts try to get one.
Also guys with astonishing collections

Impressive for a new brand

Must follow this in the future

And I'll do anything to get one. Lololol
