Rolex in Paris

As title, where is the best AD in Paris to hunt for 116610LV or Batman or sea dweller?

Just visited a few large European cities - no steel sport Rolexes anywhere. What is the deal with this? Only a year ago Submariners and GMTs were easy to find and buy. Any info?

Not even any black Subs or GMT?

What cities did you visit?

None. The situation is the same in my home country. The cities I visited were Monaco, Cannes, Nice and Vienna. Twotones and PM models were available but no basic steel ones.

As there has been no major currency change in the EU, either something systemic with production seems to be happening or Rolex are reacting very slowy to this increasing hyped-up over-demand for popular models.

This is interesting. I am assuming it's a uptick in Rolex SS models being in more mainstream fashion in Europe??

Crazy to be honest, rolex don't encourage grey market yet won't supply the demand in Europe in particular UK

It does feel like demand is up here, ignited by the D500 I think, so why not supply Europe more and divert from the US where we hear of popular Rolexes sitting around all the time. I don't get this game plan.

CDG is best spot was there 2 weeks ago, had new SD, both ceramic Daytonas only caveat was that in order to buy one of those you needed to purchase another Rolex as well. Will be there this week as well, I will see if it's the same deal. Btw it was CDG non international terminal. Had almost all sports models in stock as well.

It's no good going to Paris or Rome or Barcelona etc to find SS sports pieces. From my experience you have to go to small town ADs. My advice would be to phone around a couple of days before (every AD will have somebody who speaks English)....and don't ask about a discount until you're standing in the shop!

Funny you mention that, I was just on the phone with the AD asking about the BLNR for my dad and he told me that Rolex production for BLNR and Hulk has slowed down siginifically and there is now a waiting list for both, which never happens in my neck of the woods! He also said that pricing for these two models has therefore increased. BLNR is now around SAR 35,500. Keep in mind that I bought mine brand new from this same AD in June for around SAR 30,000.

Dusseldorf was never at the top of anyone's tourist list but it might be now! I used to go often as my cousin was a manager at the Hilton. Then down the Romantic Strasse as my other cousin lived down by the Black Forest. Maybe I should visit them again.

This has to be a currency play by Rolex right? They are plentiful in the US which also has the highest MSRP of any country as far as I know. Why supply a BLNR to EU or UK where the margin per watch is lower to Rolex (due to FX constraints) vs sending to the US where ADs will buy in droves? I think this is why supply in Europe is so paltry, only enough stock to maintain the line. I also think they won't raise the price in UK or EU as they believe the currency will strengthen and self correct and they don't want to risk having to cut prices later on.

Try Wempe in Paris - they usually have something in the back.

Rolex in Paris

Over the past three weeks or so I've called about 15 ADs in Paris and cities near Paris, including an AD at Charles de Gaulle, Royal Quartz, Bucherer and Galeries Lafayette in Paris proper, and ADs in Nantes and Aix-en-Provence outside of Paris. No one had the Submariner Stainless Steel w/date. Last Thursday I purchased one from Wempe in New York City.

Not really as Rolex SA sell to the other countries in CHF at fixed prices so other currencies don't matter to them, but they do to the buyers, hence in the UK they were not attractive to Rolex UK to buy after Brexit as the increased cost pretty much wiped out all of AD's net margin of 15-20%. So we had the 10% price rise last year to help them out. Maybe we need another price rise to equalise prices around the world, otherwise there's no palpable reason not to resupply the UK and now the EU as well to reasonable levels. Rolex will never cut prices, USD is strong at the moment but no sign of a price cut.
