When this happens I get angry but happy at the same time.!!!

Hi Guys,

Today I got a call from one of my AD's , I was supposed to get the first SS Skydweller that was scheduled to arrive this week, the manager apologized saying that he's sorry but that the President of the Company sold it to a friend of his, this can be true or can be BS, I was disappointed to hear that but after a few mins I just thought it was not meant to be and that I just saved a big chunk of $$ , what bothered me the most is that I passed on a SD43 two weeks ago at Duty free price to save the funds for this watch but thank God I have my Sub to hold on in the meantime, I'll not pay premium so it'll have to wait.

Sometimes I believe that when things don't line up , it's just best to move on, maybe I can just start thinking again in the Polar I wanted to get before the SS SkyD fever , I can even get the Polar and the LHD Pelages I like and still save a few thousands.

Just a short watch story that I wanted to share.

Thanks.

Well at least they were up front about it. If you still want it, just wait for the next one

I agree with the "not meant to be" philosophy.

It's helpful in moving on from circumstances beyond your control.

Keep yourself open for opportunities and you might be surprised at how well thing might work out for you.

I've been disappointed by AD's and boutiques more times than I'd like to remember. I usually will now deal with our trusted sellers here.

As for your experience, I agree, sometimes missing the piece you want is better in the long term.

what's the point of shop calling you just to tell you that?

Unless they've promised a certain date for delivery?

Not like customer can easily tell if it's the first unit arrived or their 3rd, so why cause disappointment when you don't have to.

This same thing happened to me not too long ago. Except my AD soften the blow by offering me a DaytonaC white dial. I am supposed to be first for sky dweller now... we'll see. But yes, hang in there!

This would give me pause about doing business with this AD in the future.

Can't buy both and since I already have a diver I decided to wait for the Sky D.

Yeah...I'm with Tom on this one.

Now you just have to weigh if you'd rather have the two watches or the next Sky. As those are two amazing references, that would be... a tough one.

Sadly this happens all the time. Sales people are just employees. The owner could keep all the watch if he/she decides to.

Buy the next one that comes in, put yourself on the waiting list at another AD, sell the one from the first AD for a profit, buy the second one when they get to you. Pocket a couple of thousand courtesy of 1st company.

If the AD is fully owned by one person, then yes. But if not the company owns the watches and the executive is also just an employee who has just abused their position to sell to a friend.

I'm impressed they admitted to it: most would just say 'next month, next month' while dragging you around

This can be seen two ways. Personally, it would have left a sour taste in my mouth but I would have appreciated receiving the candid explanation of what happened.

In the end, it is just a watch, the time for yours will come. No reason to get annoyed by these little things.

I try not to let things like this phase me. When buying anything, there is always a better possibility in the future. It is obvious that you get that. Please share again when that better possibility happens and completes the story.
