Icon20 Diving with my Submariner 16610

Desk diving, that is. Sold my seamaster and went with this diver.

I have the new smp and love it. If anything, it totally goes head to head with the sub minus the sticker price. The new 8800 movement, ceremic dial and ceremic bezel and metas certification all for under $5000 is one heck of a package....

Beautiful watch! However I could never get rid of my seamaster.

Good choice, you won't regret it! Personally I've never cared for the Omega Seamaster...I don´t like the skeleton hands and ugly (imho!) helium escape valve! But it has its fans. My old 5-digit desk diver says hello...

How do you like the bracelet of the 16610 compared to the Seamaster?

I have a Seamaster now, and am ready to move on to the Sub date. The 16610 is by far my favorite over the newer 6-digit Subs. I’ve never really worn a Sub before, and can’t find one to try on. I hear the links on the 16610 are hollow. I’m concerned I won’t like the bracelet of the 16610 as much as the bracelet of my Seamaster.

The 16610 is a classic Sub (I bought mine at an AD in 1999) however, the bracelet will probably disappoint you if you have worn a modern bracelet. It is very light when compared to the watch itself.

I don't have any experience with the Seamaster but you might also feel that way comparing the 2.

Might be lighter but its still a pretty good bracelet.

Awesome choice! I love my 16610, and others have said, the bracelet isn't really great. I wear mine a lot on NATOs which really gives it a great look.

I'm not a huge Seamaster fan (although I love my Speedmaster), except of course the Aqua Terra. That thing especially in white dial is gorgeous. Still waiting on the call for a new 36mm Explorer, but the AT maybe an alternative for considerably less money.
