Exploring without an Explorer

Headed out for the first backpacking trip of the season. A short three day nine mile route to to shake out some new equipment.

Day 1

Three miles of this

To get to this

Day 2

Started heading north in the fog

Saw this bald eagle watching over a pod of Orca whales feeding

Fun time - did you dig any clams whole at the beach?

Google "Ozette Triangle".

It's in part of Olympic National Park. I live on the peninsula and it is my backyard. We spend most of our time in the mountains though as opposed to the beach.

Awesome! Thank you for sharing your pictures.

My wife used to climb/guide in the Sierra and I used to climb/guide in the Rockies. We love seeing pictures of other peoples' adventures -- especially seeing your kids out there with you!

Thanks again for sharing!
