Geek Alert! SS SkyD Blue

GEEK ON

Year old SS SkyD blue, worn 24/7 for about 8 months, then off for a bit with the LV, then on... then off for a Sub... and now after two weeks of 24/7 wear SS SkyD blue is +/-0 seconds a day.

GEEK OFF

We now return you to your normal TRF content already in progress.

My Sky-Dweller is very accurate too. Roughly -0.1 seconds per day with no attempts at regulation, worn on the wrist all day and night. Compare that to my brand new 114060 which looses 3.5 seconds a day.

I like the SkyD so much. If it were the same size and thickness of a DJ41, I'd long since have bought one.

(I assume at least part of the reason it's not is a thick movement, of course, and there's not much to be done about that.)

I love an accurate watch. I know a lot of people don't care about it but I too keep track of how they run.

Very impressive! I love accurate watches as well, I check mine fairly regularly and marvel at the accuracy of the Rolex movements.

Interesting, have 060 and was as new from AD -7, sent to RSC for regulation and is now -1.0. New LV is -3.5. Hmmm, wonder if SkyD movement on average is inherently more accurate than Sub 'base' movement..

Yeah yeah all high quality mechanical movements can be regulated to... but is SkyD movement simply better able to be / hold regulation / accuracy? Hmmmm...

Obviously I have no idea if the Sky-D movement is more accurate I assume it is based on a very similar design to that of the Sub. But I do certainly enjoy the watch even more thanks to the accuracy.

I've no idea how accurate my watches are. When I wear them they me keep on time for what I need. That seems good enough for me. Glad you love your Sky D; it's a great watch.

Mine is exactly like that! White SkyD, 2 weeks +/- 0.0 too! Most spot-on of all my references. Next best is Explorer 1. Nearly spot-on.

Not really apples to apples comparing an older movement to a new one with more advanced materials, lubrication and design.
