but as much as some people really dont like the California, I think they are stunning. and I am a sucker for a hard top convertible.
My old neighbor had a Testarossa, an SL65, a 911, a 599, a Boxster S, and I forget what else in the time I lived across the street from him. Not all at the same time though. Oh, he had mid '60s Corvettes too. Had a lift in his garage so he could stack two super cars, neither of which he really drove. His house? He talked about tearing it down and building something nice, which would have been the prudent thing to do. It was a '50s ranch. lol

Aren't most new Porsches at this price range a little tame compared to your AMG brute?

Myself, I would be a complete idiot and buy a 930 turbo, strip it, recaro seats, roll bar, straight pipe.
If I am correct, the typical Porsche GTS is pretty much on par with my AMG GTS. And I think it is a few bucks more.

I think Porches gets really nuts when you go Turbo or higher. But yeah, those get expensive in a hurry.

Dont disagree. I love stick. But I have a weak back. While its good right now, when it goes out, I am unable to drive stick. So a nice automatic is much better for me.

It really is a freaking ton of money.

My boy DeeTee hates the California. But if I were serious about making a switch right now, I would get a nice used version of that, before this.
Totally relate to top down driving. Nothing compares. They do make a GTC! Also MB is putting out a bunch of new models. New engines with some F1 tech. Basically getting more HP with same displacement. Hang with the GT until something really grabs you.

That’s the plan brother.

Honestly don’t see myself doing anything but looking. It’s fun to daydream.

But it’d have to be something super doe gal to get me out of the GTS. I’m enamored with it.

Same here. Pretty impressed with the E 53 cabrio that is coming out, but I still have two years on my lease, so I will change my mind 12 times before then...

This.

I recently lost my dad aged 54 to the big C.

Realised you only have one chance at this so might as well enjoy what you enjoy, I was driving a 420ps modified SEAT Leon Cupra (sister car to a MK7 VW Golf R for the american users) but the brand is a "normal" brand.

I enjoy cars etc so decided to pull the trigger and buy a 2015 Porsche Cayman S instead! a lot more "premium" than the SEAT, slower because it has less power but the 3.4 sounds immense compared to 2.0T.

So frigging nice. But I love my car. And I’d take a 30k hit if I were to trade it in.

But wow. So nice.
I’ll help you get this out of your system. Come to ATL and we’ll sign up at the Porsche US HQ for some hot laps....then watch shopping and some killer steaks. LMK if I can “assist”!

There is absolutely no question that this will happen.

If it takes until October then Dr. Tom might be at the Petit with the GT3 Cup circus.

Naw, that’d be more of an enabler I guess

Seth, I'd take and keep the AMG GT. That car is unusual, beautiful, solid, mature, and a beast. I would take the AMG GT any day of the week personally. I'm not a porsche guy but if you had to make a move, I'd look at the 911 GT3 Touring.

Sorely Tempted

I love a targa but I’ll be damned if they aren’t overpriced!

With that much cheese you’d be better off in a cpo turbo drop. Just sayin!

I think you’d miss the Benz though. 911s are less flash for better or worse.

Hahaha, NO NO NO, Seth!!

Porsche's in this range are for dentist. Seriously.

Unless you go big, and get the GT3 (or RS), should you go for it.

Or the Exclusive.

Are you crazy? Do I have to call you from Italy for divine intervention. You will sorely miss that muscle car V8 you have. You love those power plants. Look at what you have, RRS...V8. Mustang gt350....V8, Corvette....V8, SL550.....V8. Comment denominator for a reason. Yes the 991 is a stunning car, but I get the feeling you will lust after the AMG V8 in a hurry. Enjoy the unique and sexy one you have now. And don't let me read this $HIT any more or I will call you at 2am from Italy.

Good on you Las for doing this work yourself.

Last time my butler ordered my shirts it was a damned nightmare.

While I do like ‘droptops’ they have to be folding steel.

This soft top idea is a bit naff.

OK I'm actually very concerned.

Folding steel is proper.

Coupe is perfection.
