Sourcing Like-NOS Vintages

Hi all,

Firstly, let me just say I'm not looking for a free and easy ride to find the exact watch I'm looking for, but some guidance would be great - help would be very much appreciated!

So, i'm on the hunt ideally for a SS 1970s/80s Date/Datejust (steel hands and indices) that's in NOS, or pretty much perfect, condition. I've been looking for a WG hands/indices-free Rolex for a while now and realised that, since they haven't been produced for a long while, it's only going to get harder to source going forward..

I realise looking for a watch that has sat in someones safe for 30/40 year is a pretty big ask, but I'm hoping there's a few around. Having scoured the internet for a while now I just cannot seem to find any, could any of you guys here point me in the right direction?

Cheers, Stefan.

Not easy is it!? NOS, or almost such, are like trying to find unicorn pooh.
Try the vintage dealers listed here and get in touch with your desired criteria and models. Good luck!

NOS requires patience. If you're impatient, you could always source the dial and hands separately, then have a 'beater' fully overhauled and re-finished. Could even get a brand new case if that sort of thing doesn't bother you...

Think I'm gonna have to wait it out for a complete NOS piece - it'll be worth it

Just work out who are the best dealers, let them know what you want and most importantly, let them know you are prepared to pay X% above market price.

Then when something comes along, you might be lucky enough to get a call.......

But there are a lot of people out there doing exactly the same thing for NOS pieces so be prepared for a long wait.........Ultimately, money talks.........
