Panerai straps is it just me?
All my Panerai factory straps are small and the simple task of buying
replacements seems confusing. From the sizing names and sizes to the tapered buckles or non tapered and the same as the lugs etc? Seems like there should be an easier way. Same for you all? |

Could see this being confusing at times, they certainly dont make things easy with myriad of tapered straps that go with an increasing number of case sizes.
My thing with panerai straps is the perfect fitment for me is always in between the holes. |

The website is dreadful, but I’m a standard size for OEM so no problem, and like a taper on them.

There was a learning curve when i started getting into straps.
the OEM never fit me right. there are so many strap makers out there with their own measurements and materials, so their fit wouldnt be the same also consider your own fit preferences. good luck! |

Some also look terribly thick like a clydesdale saddle. Unreal.

If you’re anywhere near a boutique, they stock most strap options in different sizes, (at least here they do). Highly recommend visiting even if it’s a bit of a drive

I visit the boutiques often (rich person here) and they always say they get when and whatever is sent. Their supply selection sucks. I’m heading to Italy to pick horses for my personal shell cordovan line next week.

A few years ago, I decided I wanted a new look, something edgy but also age appropriate. I landed on the world of heritage clothing. Vintage inspired shirts, jackets, boots and selvedge denim. I think it works for me and I really like a lot of the brands design and manufacturing ethos. Viberg is one of my favourite boot brands and glad to support a 3rd generation, small Canadian crafter |

I never thought I'd like the look of selvedge denim on me until Mrs Van D bought me a pair of motorcycle specific jeans in very dark denim. I rode to work this morning so have them on now. I have a couple of pairs of Frye harness boots. I'm thinking they'd look pretty cool with those jeans of yours, too.

There's always the custom route, CJ. There's a lot of choice, as I'm sure you've read on here. I've only ever used Dangerous9 and I can't recommend him highly enough. John is a genius.

I've moved away from denim of late. I've been rooted in 501s for decades and I'm finding they're too tight on the thighs these days (I sandbag in the gym on leg day because of the issues with my back. I then found a decent PT who showed me how to batter my legs without needing to squat so they've now, finally, started growing. Only about 40 years too late but never mind ). I'm wearing cargo pants more and more often, way more comfortable

It doesn't get any easier with age, my friend, but I'm still kicking it in the gym six days a week
